Upbound Group, a technology-driven financial services company, seeks a Manager of State Tax Planning and Controversy in Plano, TX. You will lead state and local tax planning, manage audits, and support M&A activities to protect shareholder value.

Requirements include a CPA or Bachelor’s in Tax/Accounting, 8 years of corporate/public tax experience (5 in state tax), and strong analytical and leadership abilities. Proficiency with OneSource, Excel and Word is preferred.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Tax/Accounting or CPA required.
• 8 years corporate tax and/or public accounting experience, including 5 years state tax experience.
• Excellent analytical skills; detail oriented.
• Ability to develop and motivate team members.
• Experience with OneSource is preferred but not required; proficiency in Excel and Word.

Responsabilidades

• Minimize Tax Expense: advise on state and local tax consequences of transactions and planning opportunities.
• Advise on impact of tax laws, regulations, rulings, and proposed legislation; recommend planning alternatives.
• Support mergers and acquisitions with tax exposure analyses and integration.
• Manage state and local tax audits and voluntary disclosure agreements.
• Oversee relationships with third party law firms in tax litigation.
• Identify and implement state and local tax planning opportunities.
• Provide tax support including transfer pricing between entities.
• Assist management with tax reserves and federal tax compliance including R&D documentation.
• Support negotiation and resolution of audit issues for favorable settlements.
