Job summary

The National MS Society is seeking an Advocacy Leader to manage policy efforts across Illinois and Missouri, engaging activists and coalitions to advance MS priorities. You will develop relationships with lawmakers, explain complex issues, and promote targeted advocacy communications to diverse audiences.

The role emphasizes liaison work with District Activist Leaders and Government Relations committees, driving public policy initiatives and strategic outreach in two states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public policy or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field.
• Understanding of the legislative system and how to influence outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse audiences, including volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategy to operationalize the Society's strategic plan.
• Design legislative strategies for Illinois and Missouri.
• Build relationships with key decision makers to advance policy.
• Coordinate coalitions and engage MS Activists in advocacy.
• Ensure advocacy work aligns with contract obligations with lobbyists.
