Job summary

Bamboo Insurance is seeking a Senior State Manager to own the performance and profitable growth of Homeowners programs in Colorado and Texas. This role carries state-level P&L accountability and collaborates across distribution, analytics, pricing, underwriting, product, regulatory, operations, technology, carrier partners, and reinsurers to build scalable state books.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, entrepreneurial leader with deep Homeowners expertise, catastrophe and portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field.
• 8–10 years in property & casualty insurance with homeowners experience.
• Experience launching or scaling a state or property program.
• Ability to analyze book performance using SQL/Python/BI tools.
• Strong regulatory judgment and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the P&L and state plan for expansion states with profitable growth.
• Build and ramp state programs, influence distribution, and launch plans.
• Manage catastrophe and portfolio risk for wildfire, hurricane, and convective-storm perils.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, product, claims, and carriers to implement rates and forms.
• Lead regulatory filings and respond to DOI inquiries.
• Monitor performance, diagnose trends, and drive profitability and execution.
• Communicate results and tradeoffs clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
