Job summary

Archer Aviation in San Jose, CA is seeking a State Estimation Engineer to design and implement advanced sensor fusion for eVTOL aircraft, integrating with air data systems, INS, GNSS and other aviation sensors.

You will develop and verify state estimation algorithms in Simulink, drive modeling standards, perform V&V through simulation, HIL and flight testing, and collaborate with control, hardware and software teams to ensure safe, robust performance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field.
• PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Robotics is an alternate qualification.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design state estimation algorithms for eVTOL aircraft.
• Implement state estimation algorithms primarily in Simulink.
• Integrate state estimation with air data systems, INS, GNSS, and other sensors.
• Develop and execute verification and validation strategies including simulation, HIL, and flight testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
