Job summary

Archer Aviation seeks a skilled state estimation engineer to design and implement advanced algorithms for eVTOL aircraft. The role emphasizes safety, robustness, and efficiency, with strong emphasis on Simulink development and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work on integrating sensors and developing comprehensive V&V strategies, including hardware-in-the-loop testing and flight trials, to ensure high-fidelity simulations and reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in aerospace, electrical, robotics or related engineering field.
• 60 months of experience in sensor fusion algorithm development, modeling and simulation of sensors.
• Alternate education: PhD in aerospace, electrical engineering, or robotics.
• Alternate experience: 36 months in sensor fusion algorithm development, modeling and simulation of sensors.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design state estimation algorithms for eVTOL aircraft, focusing on safety, performance, robustness, and efficiency.
• Implement state estimation algorithms primarily in Simulink, adhering to modeling standards.
• Integrate state estimation with air data systems, INS, GNSS, and other aviation sensors.
• Develop and execute verification and validation strategies, including simulation, HIL testing, and flight testing.
• Collaborate with control, hardware, software, and test teams to ensure seamless integration.
