Job summary

RK Industries, LLC seeks an experienced Start-Up & Commissioning Manager to lead startup, commissioning, testing, and turnover of mechanical systems on complex construction projects. You will coordinate activities from planning through final turnover, ensuring safe, documented, and fully operational systems for the client.

Responsibilities include developing commissioning plans, reviewing drawings, leading testing, and interfacing with owners, vendors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction, commissioning, startup, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, P&IDs, equipment schedules, and control diagrams.
• Strong understanding of commissioning processes, testing procedures, and project turnover requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all startup and commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and checklists.
• Coordinate startup activities with PMs, superintendents, foremen, quality, safety, engineering, and VDC teams.
• Review drawings, specifications, and commissioning requirements for compliance.
• Establish milestones and coordinate with overall project schedule.
• Perform functional testing of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Coordinate equipment startup, testing, balancing, and controls integration.
• Work with manufacturers, vendors, and third-party commissioning agents.
• Ensure equipment/systems meet drawings, specs, and codes; close deficiencies.
• Maintain commissioning logs, deficiency reports, and turnover documentation.
• Support pre-functional/functional testing and owner training.
• Travel to project sites as required.
