Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Superintendent to lead the safe, efficient turnover of major mechanical systems on large industrial projects. You will manage pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and system readiness while coordinating with engineering, construction, vendors, operations, and project leadership.

You will guide craft teams, ensure safety compliance, and maintain thorough turnover documentation, checklists, and final reports to support successful project handover.

Qualifications

• Experience leading pre-commissioning and commissioning of large mechanical systems.
• Ability to coordinate with engineering, construction, vendors, OEMs.
• Strong safety and LOTO compliance experience.
• Proven track record of system turnover and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety meetings and ensure mechanical safety procedures.
• Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of major mechanical systems.
• Conduct system walk-downs, identify deficiencies, and ensure readiness.
• Supervise functional testing and perform run-ins and leak checks.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to meet readiness and performance requirements.
• Maintain commissioning documentation and turnover packages.
