Job summary

AT&T is seeking a highly technical standards leader to shape the future of mobile network operations, automation, and management within the global telecommunications ecosystem. You will represent AT&T in standards organizations and drive strategic influence across key forums to define operational frameworks for 5G Advanced and future 6G networks.

Qualifications

PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications.
Direct experience with 3GPP standards development.
Experience influencing standards organizations and technical forums.
Strong understanding of telecom management, orchestration, and network operations.
Knowledge of mobile network architectures, cloud-native platforms, and virtualization technologies.
Excellent technical writing and presentation skills; ability to negotiate complex issues.

Responsibilities

Represent AT&T in 3GPP SA5 and related bodies, influencing network management and automation.
Collaborate to develop, defend, and negotiate AT&T positions across standards bodies.
Lead standards strategy for telecom management, OAM, network orchestration, and AI/ML-driven operations.
Author technical contributions, white papers, and standards proposals.
Drive discussions and build consensus among operators, vendors, and stakeholders.
Translate business requirements into industry-leading standards strategies.
Coordinate alignment with 3GPP SA/CT/SA5 groups.
Support patent generation and IP development.
