Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Sr. Staff Technical Program Manager to lead the end-to-end development and delivery of our sodium-ion energy storage systems across hardware and software in the San Francisco Bay area.

Reporting to the CTO, you will build a lean TPM team, translate product priorities into plans and milestones, manage risks, and drive cross-functional decisions to move critical programs forward. You will operate at multiple levels, shaping the operating model and ensuring timely launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 12+ years leading complex technical programs or product development.
• Experience taking hardware or hardware-enabled products from concept to production.
• Experience building and leading TPM teams or equivalent leaders.
• Strong technical judgment across architecture, requirements, integration, and readiness.
• Ability to lead trade-offs across technical and business constraints.
• Excellent leadership and communication; able to influence senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end program execution from architecture to customer delivery.
• Build, lead, and develop Peak’s Technical Program Management team.
• Translate product strategy into clear priorities, plans, milestones, and decisions.
• Drive system-level integration across hardware, software, and manufacturing.
• Lead cross-functional trade-offs among performance, safety, cost, and schedule.
• Establish requirements, interfaces, verification plans, and release criteria.
• Identify and resolve risks before they become critical.
• Provide clear, decision-oriented communication to executives.
• Build lightweight, scalable program processes to improve execution.
• Step into critical programs when hands-on leadership is needed.
