Job summary

Capella, an IonQ company, seeks a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager to lead a portfolio of spacecraft programs, oversee schedule, budget, and risk, and mentor other program managers. You will drive cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in engineering/program management, experience with Jira/Agile, and eligibility for U.S. government export controls.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years with a Master’s degree in engineering, systems, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in project management software tools and collaboration platforms such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with Jira/agile management.
• Must be eligible to maintain security clearance.
• US export regulations require Capella employees to be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or eligible for required authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end spacecraft programs from development through qualification, production, and delivery.
• Manage a diverse portfolio aligned to business and technical strategy with clear accountability.
• Oversee multimillion-dollar budgets including labor, materials, and subcontractor oversight.
• Synthesize complex technical requirements into actionable work plans and manage interdependencies.
• Mentor and develop other program managers and foster high-performing teams.
