Job summary

IonQ is seeking a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager to lead cross-functional programs across the application platform, developer tooling, and compiler stack. You will report to the VP and own program-level decisions, coordinating four engineering teams and roughly forty engineers in a high-ambiguity environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years managing technical programs across cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading technically ambiguous programs beyond a defined plan.
• Experience in developer tools, SDKs, compilers, or adjacent platform software.
• Ability turn diffuse problems into specific, minimal asks.
• Technical fluency to engage with engineering leads on scoping and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of IonQ's application platform, developer tools, and compiler roadmap.
• Partner with engineering leadership to turn vision into milestones and identify risks early.
• Build and run timelines, tracking, and reporting with measurable adoption.
• Keep plans consistent across PRDs, trackers, and Jira; automate where possible.
• Surface risks early and manage dependencies across teams; communicate status to leadership.
