Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems – central region (MDI BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Staff Systems Engineer (Level 6) to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on leading technical extensions of MDI capabilities into product lines and shaping strategies to win future programs.

The ideal candidate will hold a STEM degree with extensive systems engineering experience, be able to lead teams, travel up to 30%, and possess an active U.S. DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with 14+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 12+ years, or PhD with 10+ years.
• Strong background in systems engineering and product lines from concept to commercialization.
• Proven ability to lead a technical team and communicate across functions and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical extensions of MDI capabilities into product lines and guide technical solutions.
• Serve as technical liaison to customers and industry partners for product line opportunities.
• Mentor staff in system architecture and SE principles and manage internal processes.
• Develop technology maturation roadmaps and support IR&D planning and execution.
• Present technical solutions to senior leadership and collaborate across BUs and partners.
