Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Engineer to join the Site Reliability Engineering team. You will drive a long-term Reliability strategy and ensure the performance and reliability of Airbnb’s infrastructure and products.

As a hands-on leader, you will design enterprise-wide SRE architecture, define production readiness standards, mentor engineers, and partner with product teams on large-scale distributed systems to keep services resilient as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with architecture/design in consumer-facing tech.
• 5+ years as a senior-level technical lead or architect delivering technical direction across teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across organizations.
• Expertise in building and scaling high-availability systems in multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop a roadmap for Reliability with a long-term vision and be a strategic partner.
• Design and influence company-wide SRE architecture, standards, and tooling.
• Create scalable incident management processes and reduce toil from incidents.
• Mentor and lead other Site Reliability Engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and blameless post-mortems.
• Partner with engineering leaders to drive design choices for large-scale distributed systems.
