Job summary

Findhelp in Austin (HQ) is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead engineering efforts across our platform connecting social-services nationwide. You will own features from inception to delivery, mentor juniors, and drive robust, scalable architectures using Python and ReactJS within a microservices-based system.

You will collaborate across teams, improve performance, and ensure security and maintainability while contributing to culture and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience architecting features for long-term impact.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience writing technical designs and breaking down complex features.
• Experience in Python and ReactJS preferred.
• Comfortable working independently in a complex Python codebase.
• Comfortable scaling Python and expanding skills as needed.
• Mentoring others and fostering growth within teams.
• Strong understanding of SQL, ORMs, and non-relational databases.
• Preferred GCP experience; other cloud experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Understand user stories to design intuitive experiences.
• Own work from inception to delivery and beyond.
• Refactor legacy code while creating new features.
• Mentor other engineers and foster their growth.
• Collaborate across teams to achieve Findhelp's mission.
• Write quality, user-focused code consistently.

• Provide quality feedback in code reviews and pair on tasks.
