Job summary

Google DeepMind is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive Gemini features, collaborating with design, product, and modeling teams to deliver scalable, high-quality applications. The role emphasizes performance, user experience, and cross-functional leadership.

Ideal candidates will have extensive software development, design/architecture, and launch experience, with the ability to guide a distributed engineering team in a fast-paced AI driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compelling new features for Gemini's applications efficiently, prioritizing both performance and seamless user experiences.
• Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams (design, product, modeling specialists) to translate user needs into intuitive, valuable app features within the Gemini ecosystem.
• Design and implement app functionality that is easy to scale. Enforce development best practices and optimization in the day to day work.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a structured organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Excellent leader and communicator, with demonstrated talent at building strong collaborative partnerships with great communication skills.

US: $262000 - $364000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
