As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will
Lead the design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient full-stack applications.
The Senior Staff Software Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Identify and address bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate these issues.
The Senior Staff Software Engineer collaborates with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Implement and manage testing processes to ensure the quality and reliability of the applications.
Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to operations and activities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education or work experience.
At least 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated success delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
Mastery in modern languages such as Java, Springboot, JavaScript, Python, .NET, C++
Fluency and specialization with technologies such as Angular, Kafka, NoSQL, and Relational Databases, OpenShift, RabbitMQ, and Grafana.
Familiarity with cloud services.
Experience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code.
Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments.
In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication).
Experience in testing methodologies using frameworks such as BDD.
Experience with Edge-based architecture solutions in a mobile, industrial environment, considering factors such as vibration, intermittent connectivity, and extreme temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Rail, Shipping, Airline, Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain, or other Transportation industries, or experience in a High-Tech industry.
Experience leveraging best-in-class security practices and protocols, event-driven and microservices architecture patterns, etc.
Experience with open-source libraries and frameworks.
Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Proven ability to debug, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks in complex applications.
Familiarity with hardware and network configuration processes such as firewalls, network monitoring, and cloud data management.
