Waabi is seeking a Simulation Platform Engineer to advance Waabi World, our scalable self-driving simulation environment. You will optimize the platform, design orchestration between components, and collaborate with researchers and engineers to deliver production-grade software.

You will work with cross-functional partners, embrace test-driven and API-driven development, and help build a future of autonomous driving through scalable, performant systems.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD or bachelor's degree with 5+ years in CS, robotics, or related field.
• Experience with backend technologies; Rust, C++, Python.
• Production-quality software development experience.
• Linux/Unix experience.
• Knowledge of test-driven and API-driven development methodologies.
• Design interfaces between systems.
• Multithreaded design/architecture and systems programming.
• Collaborative work with cross-functional partners.
• Performance optimization and profiling experience.
• Experience with concurrency and determinism.
• Open-minded, collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Waabi World to accelerate AV development.
• Improve scalability and performance of the simulation platform at scale.
• Design and implement orchestration between simulation subcomponents.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers in architecture discussions.
• Work with internal users to understand requirements and propose features.
• Advocate and set software development patterns.
• Drive cross-functional technical projects with company-wide impact.
