Job summary

Zscaler, San Jose, CA, invites a Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Full-Stack) to help design and build AI security products in a hybrid role. You will guide front-end and back-end work, shape architecture, and collaborate with product teams to deliver reliable, scalable software across AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices.

You will mentor peers, raise engineering standards, and own observability and platform concerns while contributing to a greenfield product area in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Curiosity and active exploration of AI tools and new technologies.
• 6+ years building enterprise-grade solutions with AI coding assistants.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs in a microservices setup; Kafka experience.
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments on Kubernetes and core AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of full-stack features across UI and backend.
• Architect reusable UI components and scalable patterns for the platform.
• Set technical direction with backend engineers, UX designers, and PMs.
• Own logging, observability, and platform-level infrastructure concerns.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive standards.
