Job summary

Zscaler is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer-AI Security to design and implement core AI security infrastructure. The role focuses on scaling security systems to support hundreds of millions of users, with hybrid work options in Bellevue, WA or San Jose, CA.

You will lead complex projects, drive the technical roadmap, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-performance, secure distributed systems leveraging Rust and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Rust with async frameworks (Tokio/async-std).
• Experience designing horizontally scalable distributed systems.
• Strong Linux internals, networking, and CI/CD.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive execution.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize a low-latency AI security plane.
• Build resilient, distributed systems with concurrency and fault tolerance.
• Implement and maintain gRPC services and APIs for integration.
• Profile and optimize performance across kernel-space and user-space components.
• Lead multi-functional projects and define a technical roadmap.
