Job summary

Canonical is building a new Security Operations (SecOps) team to defend its Ubuntu estate and open source ecosystem. We seek engineers across seniority levels to design, implement and evolve security standards, tools and practices, with opportunities to share threat intelligence and contribute to governance bodies.

The role spans threat modelling, security architecture, and collaboration with Engineering, IS and Canonical leadership to improve resilience and incident response.

Qualifications

• Expertise in threat modelling and risk management frameworks.
• Knowledge of security architecture and market-leading security tools.
• Experience contributing to, and consuming, threat intelligence feeds.
• Experience with NIST CSF and ISO 27001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evolve Canonical's SecOps security standards and playbooks.
• Analyse and improve Canonical's security architecture.
• Evaluate, select and implement new security tools and practices.
• Identify, contain and guide the remediation of security threats and cyber attacks.
• Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical SecOps practice.
