Job summary

LSU Health New Orleans seeks a Staff Scientist or Senior Staff Scientist to join the Neuroscience Center of Excellence. The role requires a PhD and the ability to work independently while leading team-based research.

The incumbent will study imaging, immunocytochemistry, single cell genomics/epigenomics, and dry eye in animal models; design and conduct advanced experiments; contribute to manuscripts, grants and presentations; supervise junior researchers as needed.

Qualifications

• PhD required for Staff Scientist level.
• MD, DDS, or DVM may be acceptable in some cases.
• Postdoctoral experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, organize and conduct highly specialized and advanced experiments using established protocols; may design new protocols.
• Prepare manuscripts and grant applications; present data in lab meetings, seminars and national meetings; train and supervise junior staff.
