Responsibilities

• Processing human and animal tissue specimens for paraffin or frozen sections
• Performing histopathology and immunohistochemistry staining of tissue samples
• Conducting basic imaging of tissue samples or sections and cell cultures using transmitted, epifluorescence, or stereo-microscopy
• Updating databases (sample and material inventory, data entry, data analysis)
• Reviewing protocols and providing assistance in developing new ones
• Communicating technical aspects of various procedures to students, staff, and faculty
• Troubleshooting and maintaining lab equipment
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards for the laboratory
