Job Description

Are you interested in discovering liabilities posed by environmental contamination? Do you like historical research? Do you like working in the field? Our environmental professionals protect our clients from purchasing properties with contamination surprises by researching the property's history and assessing structures.

In this role, you will conduct Phase I ESA, asbestos, and IH field activities and manage these projects. These duties may include:

  1. Completing the project as per its contracted scope;
  2. Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan;
  3. Troubleshooting and recommending or resolving operational problems to minimize delays;
  4. Managing resources, project scheduling, budgets, and forecasts;
  5. Collaborating with external vendors, subcontractors, or contractors;
  6. Conducting meetings and preparing reports to communicate project status to the team and clients;
  7. Communicating with clients and delivering work products to their satisfaction.

General Responsibilities:

Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and surveys to sample, measure, and analyze air, water, materials, and soil. Identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies to ensure regulatory compliance. Prepare permits, risk assessments, proposals, reports, and regulatory correspondence. Design systems and environmental protection plans. Projects may include Phase I/II assessments, asbestos abatement, and site planning and permitting.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety issues.
  • Integrate quality leadership practices daily.
  • Maintain consistent quality standards in proposal and project delivery.
  • Conduct site testing and recommend system designs for medium-sized projects with varying complexity.
  • Collaborate with senior scientists/engineers on larger projects.
  • Perform site visits, observations, and data collection.
  • Implement technical requirements and supervise field staff.
  • Develop proposals and review proposals written by others.
  • Evaluate laboratory and field data and compile reports.
  • Participate in meetings and communication with clients.
  • Oversee work by junior staff.
  • Work under the supervision of a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field, or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in relevant field required.
