Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Sr Staff Registered Nurse to function as an advanced clinician at the Proficient level, providing expert patient care and leading department clinical activities. The role includes coaching staff, coordinating education with management, and modeling compassionate communication across the interprofessional team.

Requirements include a BSN or ADN with experience, three years of nursing, Texas RN licensure (PSV Compact) and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing OR Associate’s degree with two years of nursing experience.
• Three years of nursing experience with one year in specialty preferred.
• RN Texas licensure with PSV Compact licensure and must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days.
• BLS certification or Instructor level per American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Lead department clinical activities and serve as a clinical resource for staff.
• Coach and mentor department staff in clinical and professional practice.
• Coordinate department education in partnership with management.
• Assess department needs and opportunities for practice improvement.
