Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Senior Staff Product Engineer to lead design, development and deployment of Digital Onboard Solutions for Electronic Braking. You will partner with Product Management, Program Management and railroad customers to deliver high‑quality, reliable automated data analytics for the rail industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Engineering, Math, CS or related field.
• 7+ years hands‑on design, requirements development and implementation across engineering systems, hardware/software, or data information systems.
• 1+ year experience with Locomotive Electronic Braking Systems.
• Locomotive control systems experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with communication systems.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience in software deployment and configuration management.
• Proven ability to work in a cross‑functional, global environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead future concepts and design enhancements for Transport Intelligence products using engineering principles and company standards.
• Support development of the R&D strategy for the product.
• Serve as primary customer contact for the Transport Intelligence product line; translate needs and negotiate with teams.
• Provide guidance to internal engineering teams on design tradeoffs during development lifecycle.
• Act as technical leader across global cross‑functional teams ensuring cradle‑to‑grave success.
• Participate in proposal development for projects.
• Collaborate with scientists and subject matter experts to develop freight automation solutions.
• Lead and participate in technical and program reviews.
• Maintain awareness of technical trends to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Global Supply Chain to support procurement from an engineering stance.
• Provide design input to external teams for locomotive integration of Digital Solutions.
