Job summary

Maven Clinic is seeking a Senior Staff Product Designer to own the member-facing experience and shape AI-native design. You’ll set the vision for complex projects, make strategic calls under ambiguity, and lead high-impact initiatives in a healthcare context.

You’ll mentor others, refine AI behaviors, and push for progressive disclosure, trust-building interfaces, and scalable design patterns across Maven’s ecosystem.

Qualifications

• AI fluency with daily use of AI tools and strong prompting/synthesis skills.
• Ability to turn ideas into working prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Shipped code in production and can discuss backend architecture and model behavior.
• Portfolio showing strategic ownership, success metrics, ambiguity navigation.
• Experience leading complex, cross‑functional projects without direct authority.
• Experience designing for mobile apps and responsive web.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end experience across complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to delivery.
• Define how AI should behave in high-stakes contexts to build trust with members.
• Build high-fidelity prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools and push for advanced implementation.
• Develop scalable AI-powered patterns that become Maven’s design-system standard.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Clinical, and Data to shape model outputs into intuitive interfaces.
• Develop leaders within the design team and among non-design partners.
• Identify and resolve cross-functional tensions between design, clinical, and product perspectives.
• Strengthen the design team's internal and external community through cultural initiatives.
