Job description

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Support operations with production bottlenecks, process optimization, phase separation, and chemical applications.
  2. Conduct surveillance on equipment and process.
  3. Understand overall platform material and energy balances.
  4. Identify remedial or proactive measures to sustain or improve uptime.
  5. Interface with third-party chemical providers regarding sampling, monitoring, and data collection.
  6. Ensure that export product quality meets pipeline and overboard water specifications.
  7. Understand and optimize equipment and control systems to minimize process-related downtime.
  8. Establish KPIs for performance of major equipment and processes, including their operating envelopes.
  9. Recognize, plan, and execute process improvements to reduce expenses and increase efficiency and uptime.
  10. Participate in facility and major project hazard reviews.
Qualifications - External
Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Competencies

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required, with a preference for Chemical Engineering focusing on fluid mechanics and hydrocarbon processing.

Experience: 10-15 years in oil and gas processing, offshore Gulf of Mexico experience preferred.

Professional/Technical Knowledge
  • Familiar with oil and gas processes, including gas-liquid (foaming, gas carry over, gas carry under) and water-oil separation (emulsions, water quality, gravimetric, BS&W in oil and MIC).
  • Knowledge of system performance assessments and process modeling for troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of pump, reciprocating, and turbine compression systems.
  • Understanding of process and safety control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, SAFDs, and equipment data sheets.
  • Knowledge of pressure relief, separator, heat exchanger, and control valve designs to evaluate capacities and identify bottlenecks.
  • Familiarity with separation and integrity management chemistries and their applications.
  • Basic understanding of corrosion, scaling, emulsion, and foaming mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, API 14E, API 14C, Subpart H, ASME BPV Code Section VIII, API 520, 521, and 2000.
  • Basic knowledge of project management, cost estimation, and economic evaluations.
Professional/Technical Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

Proficiency in process software such as HYSYS, UniSim, PVTSim, PipeSim.

Skills & Competencies
  • Data analysis and regression techniques.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
