Job summary

ESPO Corporation seeks a Staff/Senior Pipeline Engineer to design and oversee pipeline projects across multiple locations, including Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; and Chattanooga, TN. The role entails coordinating with project managers, reviewing drawings, and performing field measurements for transmission and distribution pipelines.

The candidate should hold an ABET-accredited degree with pipeline experience (3+ years), and may possess an EIT certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program with 3 years of pipeline engineering experience; consulting preferred.
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical or Civil EngTech from ABET-accredited program, FE exam passed, 3 years of pipeline engineering experience; consulting preferred.
  • Master's in Mechanical or Civil Eng with 2 years of pipeline engineering experience; consulting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of standard pipeline engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment; strong critical thinking.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF).
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, teamwork, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipeline design from conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for pipeline projects (transmission & distribution).
  • Design pipeline components to project managers' requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of pipeline engineering concepts, codes, and procedures.
  • Research and compile project data; write specifications; assess feasibility.
  • Update drawings to verify corrections in CAD-related software.
  • Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawings, and contract administration.
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; comply with policies and standards.

Staff/Senior Pipeline Engineer

Atlanta, GA Charlotte, NC and Chattanooga, TN

Job Description:

  • Perform pipeline design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects, including but not limited to projects including pipeline projects, including transmission & distribution pipelines.
  • Design pipeline components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
  • Apply strong knowledge of commonly used pipeline engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the pipeline engineering services industry.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications. Assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient, or testing is advisable.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of pipeline projects, including transmission & distribution pipelines.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program and 3 years of pipeline engineering experience required; consulting preferred.
  • Or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of pipeline engineering experience required, consulting preferred.
  • Or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and 2 years of pipeline engineering experience required, consulting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard pipeline engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
