Job summary

Waabi is building the future of self-driving trucking. The Onboard Sensors Team is expanding to integrate, field, ruggedize and productionize sensor systems for Waabi Driver, enabling safe navigation on roads and freeways.

You will join a cross-disciplinary group working with live vehicles daily to design, deploy and debug sensor platforms, and to mature the system through hands-on collaboration with operations and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience with fielded sensor systems (cameras, lidar, radar, GPS, IMU).
• Ability to develop readable, testable code.
• Expert level C/C++ or Rust in resource-constrained environments.
• Led engineering efforts to solve critical systems problems.
• Fielded and debugged Linux systems at the below-application level.
• Understanding of how time affects coordinated systems.
• Passionate about self-driving technologies.
• Some electronics experience with schematics and basic test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the Waabi sensors platform as we scale from.
• Solve challenging integration issues across sensor modalities (LIDAR, RADAR, cameras…).
• Deploy and debug software on real vehicles operating in the field daily.
• Integrate new types of sensors into existing and future onboard platforms.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to design and build sensor solutions.
• Collaborate with operations to understand live system behavior and mature the system.
