Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor's degree in nursing is required or Master's Degree in nursing - PLUS experience as outlined below.
• Current California RN license required. AHA BLS and PALS required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing: 2 years' experience as RN and 2 years' experience in specialty immediately prior to application. Master's degree in nursing: 2 years' experience as RN and 1 year' experience in specialty immediately prior to application.
• Must be employed full-time or 4/5 at Washington Hospital for one year prior to making application (may be waived if full-time student in MSN program).Completion of the Staff Nurse III application packet and portfolio is required.
• Special skills or abilities: Ability to work productively in a busy and complex environment. Effective written and oral communication skills in English. Completion of the Staff Nurse III application packet and portfolio.

Responsibilities

• The Staff Nurse III is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
• Provides fiscally responsible care to patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and coordination with the health care team.
