Job summary

Google is seeking a senior Network Engineering leader to shape and operate a massive, global network that supports millions of users and a wide range of services. You will influence design choices, drive reliability, and oversee deployment and optimization across data centers and offices.

You will mentor teams, coordinate with product and engineering groups, and help scale innovations across Alphabet's critical infrastructure, including global TPUs and Vertex AI integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
• 3 years of experience managing and building teams.
• Experience in testing and test automation of network designs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and thought leadership to improve the life-cycle of Google's Office and Data Center Enterprise networks from inception and design to qualification and validation through deployment, operation, and optimization.
• Identify broad problems and translate into projects and work for teams.
• Drive cross-functional alignment to develop end-to-end network solutions.
• Advocate for and build a great team culture that fosters openness and collaboration.
• Grow and retain a diverse set of talent, providing technical direction and career guidance and manage other managers.

Job description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
• 3 years of experience managing and building teams.
• Experience in testing and test automation of network designs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).
• Knowledge of software engineering standards and best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and identify problems and issues across organizations and create programs and processes to solve them.
