CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale healthcare platforms. This role requires architectural leadership, mentoring, and delivering secure, scalable applications for millions of customers.

You will partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Operations, and Engineering teams to build innovative healthcare solutions while upholding safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development in enterprise-scale environments.
• 7+ years of Java application development with modern Java frameworks.
• 5+ years of Java, Springboot development experience.
• 5+ years delivering cloud-based initiatives and solutions.
• 5+ years designing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years in Agile-based development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable solutions meeting business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on performance, scalability, and feasibility of technical decisions.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Coordinate with team members to align on technical direction and decisions.
• Adopt best practices and new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops.
• Collaborate with developers to implement complex features and enhance existing functionality.
• Mentor junior developers to grow technical skills.
