Job summary

ALSO is seeking a Senior Staff Global Supply Manager, EE Components, to own the electronics and silicon supply base from concept to mass production. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and NPI, and lead the commercial relationship with key manufacturers.

The role demands 12+ years in semiconductor sourcing, strong NPI background, and the ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. Based in Palo Alto, CA, onsite 3–5 days a week.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in global sourcing or commodity management, specifically with semiconductors or complex EE components, plus real NPI experience.
• Direct sourcing experience in CPUs/GPUs/MCUs or related EE components.
• BS in Engineering (EE preferred), Supply Chain, or Business Management.
• Track record of landing long-term agreements with global manufacturers, backed by deep technical knowledge of the semiconductor ecosystem.
• Comfortable operating as the subject‑matter expert with autonomy; strong relationship-building; willing to travel ~25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute the global sourcing strategy for EE components and semiconductors across current and next-gen vehicle roadmaps.
• Own a semiconductor technology roadmap aligning product architecture with supplier directions.
• Manage the Approved Vendor List end-to-end from supplier discovery to performance evaluation.
• Negotiate Master Purchase Agreements and quality terms to secure high-priority parts.
• Lead BOM scrubs to mitigate end-of-life risks and single-source exposure.
• Develop should-cost models to reduce total cost of ownership through negotiation and value engineering.
• Identify and hedge vulnerabilities in the EE supply chain and put continuity plans in place.
• Track market pricing, lead times, capacity, and silicon advances to inform sourcing strategy.
• Set up supplier performance metrics and run regular business reviews; travel to supplier sites as needed.

ALSO is looking for a Senior Staff Global Supply Manager, EE Components, to own the electronics and silicon supply base at the heart of our vehicles, from early concept through mass production. You'll work hand in hand with Engineering, Manufacturing, and NPI, and act as our commercial lead with the manufacturers who make our platform possible.

What You'll Do

• Build and execute the global sourcing strategy for EE components and semiconductors across current and next-gen vehicle roadmaps, with scalability designed in from the start

• Own a semiconductor technology roadmap that keeps product architecture aligned with where suppliers and the industry are heading

• Own the Approved Vendor List end to end, running the full supplier lifecycle from finding and qualifying new sources to evaluating performance once they're in

• Negotiate long-term agreements, Master Purchase Agreements, and quality terms that lock in the high-priority parts needed to build and scale

• Lead BOM scrubs to catch end-of-life risks, single-source exposure, and technical bottlenecks before design freeze, partnering with Architecture and Engineering to balance cost, performance, and resilience

• Own should-cost modeling and use it to drive down total cost of ownership through negotiation and value engineering

• Spot vulnerabilities in the EE supply chain, whether geopolitical or capacity-related, and put hedging and continuity plans in place before they bite

• Track market pricing swings, lead-time shifts, capacity, and technical advances in silicon to inform sourcing strategy

• Stand up supplier performance metrics, run regular business reviews, and travel to supplier sites when it moves the needle on cost, relationships, or development

What You'll Bring

• 12+ years in global sourcing or commodity management, specifically with semiconductors or complex EE components, plus real NPI experience

• Direct sourcing experience in at least one or two of these areas: computing (CPUs/GPUs/FPGAs/MCUs, DRAM/NAND), perception (IMUs, radar, vision sensors, camera modules), power and motion (PMICs, battery management systems, motor controllers), connectivity (USB/PCIe/CAN/Ethernet, wireless, signal integrity), or interaction (display and touch)

• BS in Engineering (EE preferred), Supply Chain, or Business Management

• A track record of landing long-term agreements with global manufacturers, backed by deep technical knowledge of the semiconductor ecosystem

• Comfortable operating as the subject‑matter expert with a lot of autonomy, strong at building relationships inside and outside the company, and able to travel domestically and internationally about 25% of the time

The salary for this position ranges from $175,000 - $235,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. This role will be based out of Palo Alto, CA and is expected to be onsite 3-5 days a week,
