Job summary

Alta is seeking a Senior/Staff Full Stack Engineer to join a small, ambitious team building AI-powered shopping experiences in NYC. You will design and ship polished UI and robust backend features, focusing on scalability and quality as we evolve our product.

You should be comfortable with React, TypeScript and Python, have 4+ years in full‑stack or backend roles (6+ preferred), and be ready to collaborate across design, engineering and growth.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Full stack or backend engineering experience, ideally 6+ YOE.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Python. Have worked with NodeJS and ideally NextJS.
• Nice to have: Experience building in consumer AI, whether in a previous role or on the side (e.g. hackathons)
• Nice to have: Experience in growth engineering.

• Scale Alta’s suite of applications; monitor, debug, and improve deployment quality and speed.

Senior/Staff Full Stack Engineer (Full-Time)

Responsibilities:

• Build beautiful, polished, and delightful user interfaces that build trust and showcase the power of our AI technology & shopping recommendation models.
• Scaling Alta’s suite of applications as we grow. Monitoring, debugging, and fixing issues in deployed applications. Improving the speed and quality of our codebase.
• Collaborating across disciplines, including design, engineering and growth.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of Full stack or backend engineering experience, ideally 6+ YOE.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Python. Have worked with NodeJS and ideally NextJS.

Nice to have:

• Experience building in consumer AI, whether in a previous role or on the side (e.g. hackathons)
• Experience in growth engineering.

• Competitive package ($200-250k base + Alta equity + healthcare benefits).
