Job summary

AOI is seeking a Senior Staff Field Application Engineer with deep expertise in fiber-optic transceivers and semiconductor laser technologies to bridge AOI engineering teams and key customers in data center, telecom, and broadband markets. The role requires relocation to Seattle, WA or the San Francisco Bay Area and involves significant travel to customer sites.

You will lead demonstrations, provide on-site technical support, and collaborate with design teams to address custom design requests

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Fiber Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required.
• 10+ years of work experience in Fiber Optics Industry with hands-on fiber optic module design/testing.
• Experience in design Optics Module is preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality customer support and satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to Mainland China from the United States.

Serves as the critical interface between AOI's engineering teams and strategic customers across data center, telecom, and broadband markets.

Serves as the critical interface between AOI's engineering teams and strategic customers across data center, telecom, and broadband markets. Must be willing to relocate to Seattle, WA or San Francisco Bay Area.

Location & Travel

This position is full time and on-site based in the Seattle, WA. This position can expect around 25% of travel.
