Progress Rail, an established Caterpillar company in LaGrange, IL, seeks an experienced engineering leader to direct high-level locomotive programs. You will guide a team of engineers, drive complex design decisions, and coordinate across engineering, product support, and manufacturing.

You will oversee analysis, design validation, and implementation of changes, while mentoring staff and ensuring cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in product development of complex assemblies or programming related to rail industry
• Experience in locomotive design, integration, and engineering analysis
• Familiarity with AAR specs and ISO requirements a plus
• Strong communication and leadership in cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and technical reporting

Responsabilités

• Directs work of engineers on high-level projects and programs
• Develops and evaluates engineering designs and subsystems
• Implements engineering changes and design work orders
• Leads communication with engineering departments and customers; provides technical responses
• Trains and mentors team members; ensures cross-functional coordination
