Job summary

Helios in New York City is seeking a Staff/Senior Software Engineer for the Document Intelligence & Data Infrastructure team. This on-site role requires collaborating with the CTO and founding team to build scalable ingestion and processing systems for multilingual public-sector data.

You will own end-to-end pipelines—from source discovery through publication—designing fault-tolerant crawlers, secure processing, and cost-efficient cloud deployment in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale acquisition systems in production.
• Proficient with document processing and OCR pipelines.
• Ability to operate in multilingual data environments.

Responsibilities

• Expand Proxi ingestion and document-processing platform.
• Build crawling and connector infrastructure for international sources.
• Scale distributed processing for conversion, extraction, enrichment, replay.
• Establish data contracts for normalized multilingual sources.
• Maintain pipeline reliability, security, and observability.
• Develop real-time audio and multilingual transcription pipelines.
