Job summary

Noetica, now part of Thomson Reuters, seeks a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the data ingestion and processing infrastructure for large-scale legal and financial documents. You will work across backend services, data pipelines, databases, and cloud platforms to ensure scalable, reliable, and compliant systems.

Responsibilities include designing pipelines, building high-performance services, implementing governance and GDPR controls, leading migrations, and mentoring

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of software engineering experience, including data platforms/back-end infrastructure.
• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake).
• Proficiency in at least one systems language (Python/Java/C++/Go) and scalable API design.
• Strong SQL and NoSQL data modeling and query optimization.
• Experience with major cloud providers and IaC practices.
• Experience with data privacy/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize pipelines ingesting, transforming, and distributing large-scale document data.
• Build and maintain high-performance backend services for storage, retrieval, and processing.
• Implement governance, privacy controls, audit trails, and GDPR compliance.
• Lead database migrations and optimize schema, performance, and scalability.
• Partner with ML/AI teams to support training and inference at scale.
• Mentor engineers on architecture and best practices.
