Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking a seasoned software leader to design and ship production-grade distributed systems. You will guide architecture, drive scalability, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product and operations teams in a HealthTech context.

You will own technical direction, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and help establish robust, highly available services deployed across cloud platforms using containers. San Francisco site, visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and shipping production software systems.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems or microservices.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams or junior engineers.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
• Experience building for high availability, scalability, or performance; open source contributions a plus.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code or configuration management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Build and improve production systems with a focus on availability, scalability, and performance.
• Use cloud platforms and containerization technologies to develop and operate software.
• Contribute to technical direction and help teams deliver robust systems.
