Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Technical Leader to define and build core identity capabilities across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.

You will lead technical strategy from concept to production, delivering scalable security software for AI agents and non-human callers. You will architect IAM frameworks, develop APIs and tooling, and collaborate with Security, AI Platform, and Cloud Operations teams to align with business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 12+ years' experience or Master's with 8+ years.
• 10+ years designing and building distributed systems, backend services, or security platforms in production.
• 5+ years implementing enterprise identity, authentication, or access protocols (OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, SPIFFE, or mTLS).
• 4+ years with containerization (Docker, containerd, or Kubernetes) and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 3+ years with security engineering principles, threat modeling, or security architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable identity and access management frameworks for AI agents.
• Deliver reusable APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and MCP-based access patterns.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Security, AI Platform, Product, and Cloud Ops teams.
• Lead architectural direction, design reviews, and engineering standards for non-human identity.
• Deliver rapid MVPs and iterate into scalable production services.
