Job summary

SiriusXM is seeking a Senior Staff Data Engineer to design and scale backend data products and reporting systems for AdsWizz and SiriusXM platforms. You will own data pipelines, APIs, and collaboration across advertising, revenue, and product teams.

The role requires 12+ years in software engineering with Python/Java, 7+ years in data pipelines and cloud data warehousing, and strong leadership abilities. A Bachelor's in CS/Math and U.S. work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in Python or Java.
• 7+ years designing, building, and managing data pipelines with Spark, BigQuery, AWS EMR, and GCP.
• 7+ years crafting REST API based‑microservices on cloud platforms (ideally AWS).
• Cloud data warehousing platforms like Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
• Data pipeline frameworks experience (Monte Carlo, Great Expectations, Soda).
• Proficient with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and messaging (Kafka, Flink, Pub/Sub).
• Collaboration tools: Miro, Jira, Confluence.
• Strong engineering process, lifecycle, release management, and testing knowledge.
• Ability to lead projects independently and deliver on time.
• Bachelor's degree and U.S. work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high‑performance, reliable reporting APIs and data pipelines.
• Lead architecture discussions with ad measurement, revenue and addressability data.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams in a joint development process.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide project delivery.
• Ensure smooth production deployments with operations teams.
