Zscaler is seeking a Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our core Infrastructure team in San Jose, CA. The role involves working with engineers and product managers to specify and provision hardware, and to optimize platform performance across a global network.

The candidate will have 7–10 years in hardware automation, strong bare-metal expertise, and Linux/BIOS/OOB management experience. Onsite role with a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits.

• Experience translating cloud workload to bare metal platform requirements.
• Deep understanding of servers, network devices and configurations and their impact on performance.
• Experience with Linux/UNIX command line, BIOS, OOB management (ILO, SAA, iDRAC, IPMI).
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs.

We’re looking for an experienced Staff Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our core Infrastructure team. This role is onsite and based in our San Jose, CA office five days a week. Reporting to the Datacenter Deployment Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Work with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to facilitate new hardware and platform specification and selection
• Provision new hardware and network devices in a staging environment that will be deployed globally to expand and supplement the Zscaler network
• Troubleshoot issues within our build environment and repair or replace server and network components and infrastructure
• Collaborate with the maintenance, network, install and platform engineering teams, execute and validate build activities and engage and assist in optimizing processes

What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

• 7-10 years experience working in a hardware automation/build environment
• Experience in translating cloud workload to bare metal platform requirements
• Deep understanding of various types of servers, network devices and configurations, and physical connectivity and their influence on platform performance
• Experience with the LINUX/UNIX command line, BIOS, OOB mgmt (ILO, SAA, iDRAC, IPMI, etc)
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Basic scripting capabilities - BASH / Python
• Experience with virtualization solutions such as KVM and Proxmox
• Familiarity with build automation technologies such as Ansible or PXE boot
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or other ticketing and documentation tools

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits. Base Pay Range $115,000 - $165,000 USD.
