Job summary

Google is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the App Hub in Sunnyvale, CA. You will help shape Agentic Applications in Google Cloud, building scalable back-end services and data pipelines across multiple teams and data systems.

The role requires deep C++ expertise, architecture leadership, and experience with distributed systems at scale. You will mentor others, drive technical decisions, and contribute to high-impact storage and AI initiatives within Google's infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience programming in C++.
5 years of experience with design and architecture; testing/launching software products.
Experience with distributed computing, big data analytics, cloud computing, multi-tenant cloud, or AI.

Responsibilities

Define the roadmap enabling Agentic Applications in Cloud. Be responsible for authoring concepts and partnering with Google leadership to deliver.
Understand Data Models and develop an Intelligent Query layer on top of multiple data sets. Work across multiple disparate systems of Gemini Cloud Assist, App Platform, Design Agent, Observability and drive a common onboarding journey across multiple teams.
Own the overall design, architecture, and implementation strategies. Establish and maintain high technical standards, ensuring code quality, reliability, and performance.
Drive cross-organizational collaboration across sites and external partners to build a durable Google Cloud native and third-party, Agent, and MCP ingestion and serving layer.
Own Complex, Multi-Dimensional Roadmaps collaborating with Distinguished engineers and Google Fellows working on Exabyte scale Storage Solutions for Agentic Applications.
