Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Florida seeks a Senior Staff Chief Engineer for the Battle Management OU. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, define technical requirements, and ensure integration across programs in autonomous and command & control domains.

The role requires a STEM PhD/MS/BS with extensive aviation autonomy experience, DoD clearances, and strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills. Travel up to 15% and potential SAP/TS access are noted.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM discipline; 14 years of relevant experience OR MS in STEM with 12 years OR PhD with 8 years.
• Proven experience in air vehicle flight autonomy, mission autonomy, or C2 architectures/communications.
• Experience interfacing with customers and company leadership.
• Experience integrating multiple engineering disciplines across business units and partners.
• Active US Government Secret or higher clearance (or in CE).
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
• Preferred: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance and SAP access.
• Strong decisions under uncertainty and excellent communication/writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for the Battle Management OU.
• Define and control technical requirements; ensure cross-project coordination.
• Interface with customer and senior leadership; ensure program adherence to standards.
• Oversee technical performance within budget and schedule; mentor engineers.
• Chair Technical Review Board and support risk and opportunity management.
• Provide leadership in applying systems engineering tools and methodologies.
