Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, Automation to advance automated reliability and test workflows for complex power systems. You will design and implement automation tools, DFMEA capabilities, and data-driven models to improve product reliability across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration with hardware/software engineers, data scientists, and reliability/test engineers, plus developing and expanding the automation framework using open source tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience working on automation for systems.
• Proficiency in Python, scripting, build and test software/tools.
• BS/MS in a technical field with data science, AI and ML competence.
• Desired technical degrees in computer engineering.
• Experience with project management and independently manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
• Passion for building automation environment.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with hardware/software engineers, reliability/test engineers & data scientists to maintain reliability & validation test schedules.
• Creative/Critical thinking skills.
• A desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge.
• Proven ability to design database schemas.
• Attention to detail and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated design DFMEA tool.
• Automate reliability program plan for new products.
• Develop expertise in automation and load following for microgrid sites.
• Develop a fault management knowledge database with search capability.
• Track effectiveness of product reliability with cross-functional team.
• Identify opportunities for automation within reliability & test processes.
• Automate reliability & functional tests using scripts.
• Automate reliability modeling with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate to understand how automation can improve test workflow.
• Gather requirements from hardware & software teams for best automation solutions.
• Reliability test equipment monitoring & reporting automation.
• Develop automated control scripts to accelerate stress tests.
• Build software to automate and transform data pipeline, reporting reliability vs goals.
• Install applications/databases relevant to automation.
• Gather requirements from cross-functional teams for best automation solutions.
• Design, develop and document the reliability test automation framework.
• Expand existing automation framework with open source tools.
