Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Staff Applications Engineer with 10+ years of professional software engineering experience to provide deep technical leadership across multiple engineering teams and drive the design and execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives.

You will define technical strategy, shape architecture, establish engineering best practices, and deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that support long-term business objectives in a 100% remote U.S.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven success designing and delivering complex distributed systems, cloud-native applications, or large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Strong programming skills in Java, C#, Go, Python, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and execution of large-scale, cross-team engineering initiatives.
• Define architectural standards and reusable design patterns across product and platform teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers.
• Lead architecture reviews and engineering decision-making for mission-critical systems.
• Translate long-term technology strategy into executable roadmaps and initiatives.
• Drive improvements in scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Lead incident response for high-impact production issues and drive operational excellence.
• Collaborate with leadership, product management, and stakeholders to align technical strategy with business goals.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices for software development, testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.
• Review code and contribute hands-on development to high-impact components.
• Raise hiring bar by participating in technical interviews and improving processes.
• Represent engineering in planning and roadmap discussions.
