Overview

Position Purpose: The Senior Staff Accountant must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing timely and accurate accounting records, including various journal entries and financial and operational reports. This position is also directly involved in the month end close process and the preparation of monthly financial statement reporting.

Responsibilities

· Process and record lot takedown purchases

· Process and record lot transfers from Green Brick Partners

· Assist with preparation of monthly financial package

· Prepare journal entries of both a recurring and non-recurring nature

· Review monthly bank reconciliations

· Prepare monthly reconciliations; research and resolve reconciling items

· Assist Accounts Payable team with review of invoice batches, ensure proper account coding and approval for expenses

· Assist Controller with projects as needed

· Review/post journal entries prepared by Accounts Payable team

· Assist Closings team with questions regarding HOA payments, tax payments

· Assist with processing annual property tax payments

· Prepare wire transfers/ACH Payments as needed

· Create new vendor setups in Newstar

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability: This position involves the level of duties as described above, or similar, but is not a position of supervisory or management level.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Education:

· Accounting degree required

Experience:

· Minimum 2 years of accounting experience

· Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
