The Muscogee County School District is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to oversee staff accountants, perform reconciliations, grant management, and consolidate financial data to support sound decisions.

Based in the Finance Division/MCPEC in Columbus, GA, you will report to the Director of Accounting and bring at least five years of accounting experience, a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and strong knowledge of governmental accounting and grant guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with major in Accounting or Finance.
• Five or more years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of government accounting, grants, and audit procedures.

Responsabilités

• Oversee staff accountants and journal entries.
• Reconciling accounts and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Grant management and compliance with OMB Uniform Grant Guidance.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports and analyses.
• Assist in budget development and year-end closing.
