Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with a strong accounting foundation.
• Typically three to five years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on general ledger work, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
• Experience independently managing assigned accounts and close tasks with accurate, well-organized documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries with clear supporting documentation (accruals, prepayments, payroll, depreciation, amortization).
• Own assigned monthly, quarterly, and year-end close tasks; meet deadlines and communicate items to the Controller early.
• Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Review activity, investigate unusual items, and resolve coding or timing issues.
• Prepare reconciliations for bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts; resolve differences to resolution.
• Collaborate with AP/AR/Payroll to ensure transactions are complete and recorded in the correct period.
• Provide backup support for billing, cash application, and vendor transactions as needed.
• Assist with revenue schedules, project data reconciliation, and financial reporting analyses.
• Support auditors with schedules and documentation; maintain audit trails and flag gaps.
