Job summary

Marsh is seeking a Staff Accountant II to support the fiduciary accounting team in Urbandale, IA. The role operates on a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least six days per month and offers opportunities to contribute to month-end and quarterly closes.

You will review AR/AP transactions, reconcile accounts, analyze receipts and vendor invoices, and assist with SOX/compliance. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across departments are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with hands-on AR/AP exposure.
• Experience in a high-volume environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, and reconcile AR/AP transactions and related entries.
• Prepare and analyze customer receipts, vendor invoices, payments, credits, and refunds.
• Investigate discrepancies and outstanding balances to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform account reconciliations and support month- and quarter-end close.
• Monitor AR/AP aging and follow up on past-due items.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve billing issues.
• Maintain documentation and support SOX/compliance requirements.
• Identify process improvements and assist with workflow enhancements.
• Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects.
